4 Xtreme-ly Spicy Ways to Heat Up Your Next Cookout | Xtreme Racing & Entertainment

It's Summer - so the heat is on, school is out, and cookouts are in. True grillmasters are always seeking exciting new cookout recipes to wow their tastebuds, and we're no different. At Xtreme, we live for intensity, so even when we're not putting the pedal to the metal on the go kart track, we're always finding ways to take life to the next level.

With these spicy grill recipes, the sun isn't the only thing that's going to make you sweat.

1. Hot Hot Habanero BBQ Sauce

Feel the burn with this no-nonsense twist on the classic cookout condiment. It's the hottest BBQ sauce around!

  • 4 cups cider vinegar
  • 5 minced habanero peppers
  • 3 cups minced onion
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 2 teaspoons white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon season salt
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup

Mince all vegetable ingredients very finely (and be sure to wear gloves with the habaneros). Bring Vinegar to a boil and add all ingredients except brown sugar and ketchup. Let the mixture get boiling again, then stir in the brown sugar and ketchup. Stir while boiling for fifteen minutes, then reduce heat and let simmer for forty-five minutes.

2. Sizzling Korean-Style Shrimp Skewers

East meets West with this asian-style flavor profile!

  • 1 pound jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • salt & pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang korean chili paste
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Peel, devein, and skewer the shrimp. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Mix all other ingredients in a bowl until blended into a bright red marinade, and brush on shrimp. Grill until curled, crispy, and lightly blackened. Garnish with chopped chives if you're feeling it!

3. Powerful Beef Grilled Poppers

So good that even if they hurt, there's no way you can stop after just one.

  • 8 ounces ground beef
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 8 ounces cooked spanish-style rice
  • 1 cup montery jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup pimento-stuffed olives, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 24 large jalapeno peppers

Saute beef and onion until meat is browned and onion is tender in a large skillet. Cook rice, then stir it in with beef, onion, cheese, olives, and lime juice to create pepper filling. Slice slits along the length of the Jalapenos, then scoop out seeds and membranes (remember those gloves from the BBQ sauce? you're going to want those again) and then spoon in the mixed filling. Grill the filled peppers until crisp and tender, then serve with your favorite cooling dip! We recommend sour cream or ranch.

4. Jack Daniels Hot Grilled Chicken Wings

Jack Daniels is not usually associated with good decisions... except this one!

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup Jack Daniels whiskey
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce (your choice, but we recommend something tangy and bright)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • ground cayenne (to taste and heat preference)
  • 16-20 chicken wings

Combine honey, hot sauce, soy sauce, whiskey, and butter in a saucepan and simmer for 8-10 minutes. You now have your sauce! Blend all the dry seasonings, wet wings with oil, and rub until coated. Grill rubbed wings until crisp and lightly blackened, then toss in sauce and serve!
